TV Advert Production Diary

17th-19th December 2013

We began our pre-production and started voicing each of our individual ideas; however at the end of multiple sessions we began to realize the issues within our ideas which included: Timeframe, Costs and locations. We finally managed to come up with an idea last minute which left us with restricted time to complete our pre-production paperwork. Working as a team we managed to efficiently pump out the required work and got it uploaded to our blogs completed to a decent standard.

7th January 2014

We began filming and we had our first run through of how we would all get to where we needed to be. We gathered our equipment and then made our way to Lucia’s house via her car. We scouted around and tried some different ways to portray the slob on the couch and afterwards we started to
see how the next part of the scene would work.

8th January 2014

We finished up the second half of the first scenario and made sure that there were minimal continuity errors by sorting out prop position and lighting. We then began filming for the second scenario by again testing for what worked with varying shots and angles, however we had to leave off early to ensure we turned up in time for our next lesson and so we didn’t get as much done as we would have hoped.

9th January 2014

We started and finished shooting the second scenario for our ad. Our initial idea was to use Lucia’s car but we found that it was too low to the ground, so resorted to using her parent’s Land Rover which was a lot higher off the ground and so fulfilled our needs exceptionally.

10th January 2014

On the final day of shooting, we were able to complete our filming entirely for the final scene although we did run into a lighting issue with outside becoming ever darker however I believed this worked well since it was of a time in which people would sit down for an evening meal but it did cause a few issues.
